My Top 10 PlayStation 4 Games

I have barely played my PS4, and the PS5 is already out. That’s when you know your backlog is way too huge. I have 98 games for PS4, and have only played 26 of them. So I thought it time to have this console join all the other top 10 lists I’ve made so far. So from the small percentage of games I’ve played for it, here are my 10 favorite!

#10

the order 1886-listing-thumb-ps4-us-09un14

Ready At Dawn/ SCEA

2015

This is a fascinating take on the Knights of the Round table. The story and action is fantastic, and the weapons are creative and fun. It’s modern science meets steampunk style is unique and wonderful. Only problem is the Lycan encounters aren’t so great and the game is very short. But that hardly matters when everything else is so awesome.

#9

middle-earth shadow of mordor

Monolith Productions/ Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

2014

Using the action formula first seen in Batman: Arkham Asylum, Shadow of Mordor takes you on a journey of a ranger and elf, dead yet somehow not, while you absolutely massacre hundreds of orcs, gaining awesome abilities along the way. The sword combat is fluid and fun to watch, and there’s tons of finishers and whatnot so combat never gets boring. This is a near-perfect action game.

#8

resident evil 7

Capcom

2017

This game blew me away. The first person perspective makes everything much more immersive and tense, the story is great, the dlc is fun and different, and the gameplay is excellent. I especially love the escape room parts… so clever and fun!

#7

the last of us remastered-listing-thumb-01-en-01oct20

Naughty Dog/ SCEA

2014

Aside from the excellent action and stealth gameplay, the story is very excellent and emotional, so much so that my wife, who detests the fact that I play video games, sat and watched me play it every chance she could. Come, to think of it, my brother and cousin told me similar stories.

#6

god of war 4 cover

SCE Santa Monica/ Sony Interactive Entertainment

2018

While the new gameplay isn’t as good as the old style of God of War, it’s still nothing less than incredible. Combine this with the plethora of upgradeable armor, weapon runes and large skill trees, you’ve got yourself an excellent game. The story is marvelous as well.

#5

god of war iii remastered-screen-13-ps4-us-16jun15

Wholesale Algorithms/ SCEA

2015

GoW3 is by far the pinnacle of the series. The story, the weapons/magic, the excellent, flawless gameplay. Slap some smoother graphics and whatever else is involved with remastering it, and you’ve got yourself a better version of one of the best action games of all time.

#4

tomb raider definitive-edition-listing-thumb-01-ps4-us-23dec14

Nixxes Software/ Square Enix

2014

Wow. This game is amazing. Like. Wow. Fun weapons and tools to go with the incredible gameplay. The story is driving and interesting, and watching Laura change into the Croft we all know and love is a thing of beauty. She goes from a near helpless, terrified woman, to a confident, deadly badass, and it’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever witnessed.

#3

infamous SecondSon_04

Sucker Punch/ SCEA

2014

The story and gameplay are superb, simply put. This takes place away from the characters of the first two games, showing how the conduits affect other parts of the world.

The five powers are incredibly unique in this one and each is a blast to use. While I miss Cole and his storyline, there’s no denying this game serves up the best gameplay of them all, not to mention it’s own intriguing story.

#2

kingdom hearts 2.8 sora rikue

Square Enix

2017

Containing essentially a short film explaining some of the back story of major characters from the phone game, a remaster of Dream Drop Distance, and a brand new, albeit short adventure displaying KH beyond a PS2-ish engine for the first time ever, this is one wonderful and welcome pack. The two games are incredibly fun, and the new story elements, in true KH fashion, answer some questions, but leave you with tons more.

#1

kingdom hearts 3-review

Square Enix

2019

I have long believed video games overall have been more or less in a decline after the PS2/GameCube/Xbox era. I feel like we got a lot more out of games back then. KH3 reminded me of those glory days. In fact, seeing how long time has separated KH2 & 3, I was astounded how they managed to keep the feel of the series in that time. They literally just build upon the mechanics of KH2, and even bring in elements from all the other games, to leave us with some truly addicting gameplay. The story is as Kingdom Heartsy as ever, filling out the Xehanort saga, all the while subtly setting us up for a whole new arc. The DLC, Re: Mind makes everything even better. This is easily one of the best games I’ve played in over a decade.

Though it is pretty easy, even on proud mode, but that hardly takes away any of the fun!

And there you have it! My top 10 PS4 games as of right now! Hopefully time will allow me to explore the dozens of other games still waiting for me to play, and hopefully some of them are good enough to make it on this list!

Tournament Of Hotties: Adam Sandler’s Lovely Leading Ladies- Finals

At long last, we come to the finals. Many beautiful (and not so beautiful) women have battled it out from the numerous Adam Sandler films out there. And now we come to the final two hotties.

Take a look at all the other rounds here.

Let’s see who the hottest woman Adam Sandler has ever pretended to bang, or at least date or kiss or something like that, is.

Holly Sullivan (The Wedding Singer)

holly sullivan 2

Holly has defeated Linda (Wedding Singer), Veronica Vaugn (Billy Madison), Vanessa (Big Daddy) and Pam Dawson (Mr. Deeds) in this tournament. Those are some beautiful women.

As I’ve said numerous times already, this actress doesn’t choose to flaunt her body, which is highly unfortunate, but I’ll give you what I can…

She is really, really beautiful, especially in her youth, but is still someone you wouldn’t pass up in her current age.

VS

palmer and adam

Palmer Dodge (Just Go With It)

To reach the finals, Palmer had to eliminate Roxanne (Grown Ups), Laura (Funny People), Alex (Chuck & Larry), and Katherine (Just Go With It). That’s a hot line-up, and she managed to prevail.

Fortunately, unlike Holly’s actress, Palmer’s is very much a model, so feast your eyes, good people.

This woman is, as they say, drop-dead-gorgeous.  Incredible body, big boobs, long legs, beautiful face, great hair, what’s not to like? Especially since all of these things are shown off exquisitely in her movie.

Holly is a stunning woman, and I can’t decide if I want to hug her or jump on top of her and do the bad thing, due to her huge  mixture of cuteness and hotness. She’s a very sexy woman, and is downright gorgeous.

The thing is, Palmer is all of those things as well, but even more so.

That’s why, the hottest leading lady in an Adam Sandler movie is…

Tournament Winner

palmer dodge

Palmer Dodge (Just Go With It)

This doesn’t really come as a surprise if you’ve seen my Impossibly Hot Women Tournament of Hotties, where Palmer’s actress, Brooklyn Decker, was a competitor. That tournament was essentially a grouping of 16 of the hottest women on the planet. But she did actually have some tough competition in here. But in the end, Palmer is just too friggin’ hot to touch.

And as a bonus (as usual), here are all the women ranked in my own personal order, from least hot, to hottest, as they appear in their respective films. The round they were eliminated in is in parentheses.

My Top 10 Video Game Genres

Over the years I have been making a bunch of Top 10 lists for games on most of the consoles I own, as well as my out of the norm subjects, such as developers, and ESRB ratings.

Now I will be taking a look at all the games that have made my top 10 lists and finding out what genres occur the most often, for I am curious which genre’s I seem to favor, and this seems like a pretty good way to find out.

I’m gonna go nuts, and even break them all up into sub-genres.

So of all the many, many genres that have appeared on my top 10 lists, here are the most common ones!

#10- Linear

Games that have you follow a more or less set path with little exploration have made my lists 11 times!

#9- Japanese-Style, 3D and Shooter

There’s a three-way tie for the number nine spot! Japanese-style, like JRPG’s, 3D games, usually platformers and the like, and types of shooters made my lists 12 times!

#8- Action RPG

Action games with RPG elements made my lists 13 times.

#7- Arcade

Any over-the-top, crazy fun time games made my lists 14 times.

#6 Open-World

22 games that allow you to wander over a vast world made the lists.

#5- Role-Playing

28 RPG’s made the lists.

#4- Action Adventure

Going on an adventure while killing a bunch of stuff? 41 games did this very well.

#3- 2D

Games played in the realm of two dimensions made my lists a whopping 56 times!

#2- Platformer

Good ol’ jumping around on stuff. This classic genre made my lists 58 times.

#1- Action

Simple, yet effective. If there’s any type of excitement in the game you’re playing, chances are it’s considered an action game, which is why it popped up a massive 83 times among my lists.

And there you have it! Looking at these 10, I am not surprised by the results, and I am certainly pleased with them!

I will update this lists as needed in the future.

The Most Popular ESRB Ratings

You know those good old ratings stuck in the bottom corner of your video games, right? They are intended for parents to look at and decide if a game is appropriate for their precious child’s age.

In case you were unaware, these are our current ratings:

eC- early Childhood

E- Everyone

E10+- Everyone 10 & up

T- Teen

M- Mature 17+

Ao- Adults only 18+…you know, for when that game is so intense, that 17 year old needs one more year of life experience to handle.

Anyway, there are a lot of people who only play mature games, because then they won’t be men if they played something less.

Likewise, there are only people who play not mature games, if they have squeamish stomachs or whatever the reason.

Personally, the only rating I look out for is eC. For unless you are 5 and under, this isn’t going to be any fun at all, for these are mind-numbing educational games for toddlers, essentially. But really, your eyes are going to pass over any game like this anyway, so no worries!

But anyway, I have been writing Top 10 lists for most of my consoles, and have more recently been doing spin-off lists, if you will, such as the most popular years, and developers appearing on those lists.

Now, I would like to look into the ratings, and see which occurs most often on my lists. Perhaps then I can get a better idea of which rating produces the best games.

And who knows, this could help a parent out with purchasing games or consoles for their kids?

So here are the consoles and the ratings from my top 10 games!

PlayStation 4

E10+- 2

M- 7

Well that’s it…now for the grand totals!

E10+ comes in last with 17 games making the top ten lists.

M with a count of 21 games.

Next is T with 32 games

And finally E with a crushing 85 games.

This is not surprising at all, especially since pretty much every game before 2002 is rated E.

As with all my other lists, I shall update this one as necessary.
